It’s Been Weeks!

I haven’t updated my own blog since late January, I should be ashamed of me. Actually, three weeks isn’t a lot of time, but so much has gone on it’s hard to keep up. Work has EXPLODED with business straight out of the gates in 2011 and isn’t slowing down. I’m almost ready to fall into my two-shift mode where I work at the office during the day and work with my teams of developers for a few hours a night to be sure they’re getting things done. Fun stuff.

Let’s see, what else is going on? I blew the transmission out of my Mustang on my way to my birthday dinner with my family and Alecia. I wasn’t even driving like a race car driver. I’m hoping my roommate and I can get it pulled this week or this weekend and fix it without taking it to a shop. It’s GOT to be something simple, like a clogged pickup tube or something. The stock transmission lasted 18 years. I had it replaced with beefier parts three years ago and it’s already failing? WTF. Not even three years and definitely less than 20,000 miles. So that sucks.

My motorcycle is still at Lexington Custom Cycles. I honestly have been so busy lately I haven’t had a chance to get a progress report, but hope to do so later this week or over the weekend. The warm weather has me itching for my custom bike! Don’t worry, I’ve still been riding. My friend Zach left her crotch rocket at my house so I can take it to the shop when mine’s done. Sport bikes are fun. I now know I made the right decision by NOT buying one because I’d end up locked up or dead.

We entered the 2011 Lexington Ad Club ADDY awards at work this year. We submitted work we’ve done in 17 different categories and got gold place in 9 of them. It was an excellent night. We worked our butts off last year and appreciated the recognition. Check out the photos of the WebMedley crew from the photo guy. Yes, I hijacked the watermarked photos from his website. Yes, partially because I’m too cheap to purchase prints. But mainly because there weren’t digital prints available to purchase. Although having some of these on a t-shirt would be super sweet…

The Lexington ADDYs

Last night was a night of fun and celebration at the Hyatt downtown. The Lexington Ad Club 2010 ADDYs kicked off at 6:30 last night. Much to my surprise, I was recognized for maintaining their website. Thank you to all who made that known, it was an excellent way to start the night. WebMedley hosted the after party, then we went to Baker’s 360. I’d never been to Baker’s but had a surprisingly good time.

By the way, we launched out new WebMedley.com website. Check it out and let me know what you think. It’s bold and innovative and definitely represents our office culture much better than the previous one did.

Oh the Dreams

Last night when I finally got to sleep, I had some weird dreams. Ever dream that the cops stopped by your house during a party? Not like that hasn’t happened before, but in this dream they didn’t want us to keep it down, they needed to take my blood to be sure I didn’t have a disease because I shook hands with a friend who ran over two deer on purpose. Any dream reader people out there, tell me what THAT means.

Busy week this week. We have a lot going on at WebMedley, I have two meetings Thursday, two on Friday, and a LOT of work to get done in between. WebMedley is hosting the after party for the 2010 Lexington ADDY Awards this weekend at the Hyatt. If you don’t have your tickets to that they still have some left.

That’s my quick update. Hope all of you are doing well and ready to break out of this cold weather. It’s coming. I actually had the top down on the Mustang on Sunday. Can’t wait for summer…
